February Mini Challenges + A Giveaway!

It’s February. It’s the Month of Love. It’s Valentine’s Day. So yes, the mini challenges this month are going to be romance themed . . . well, at least two of them are. The third you can interpret any way you like, in case you’re one of those who doesn’t enjoy romances (it’s okay, we still love you).

The first challenge is to find an unconventional love story. Not the same old boy meets girl, they fall in love, everything works out happily ever after. Maybe one of the characters is the villain? Maybe it’s an alien sci-fi. I don’t know. But find something a little out of the ordinary ๐Ÿ™‚

Challenge #2 is the one that can be interpreted any way for those of you who don’t enjoy romances. I’m sure a murder mystery would have some red on the cover, if that’s what you enjoy reading ๐Ÿ™‚ I won’t even say that the entire cover has to be red. Just part of it. So take this one and run with it! I’m eager to see what we get for this challenge.

And the third challenge this month is one of my favorites. I absolutely love second chance love stories. You know the ones . . . they were high school sweethearts, then he left or she left. Now one of them has come back and they realize that their love never died. But maybe one of them has a child? Maybe one of them has PTSD and doesn’t think they deserve the other? This one can be interpreted so many different ways, too!

As always, with these challenges, have fun.

I know last month we didn’t really specify where we wanted you guys to link up your mini challenge reviews. And they were all over the place. I will be sifting through blog post comments and Twitter / Instagram for a couple weeks just to find them all. Live and learn ๐Ÿ˜‰ But, this month we’re trying to make things easier. Not wanting anyone to miss out on the special giveawayat the halfway point this year, we have decided to make a special linky just for the mini challenges. Yes, that means another blue froggy . . .

Isn’t he cute? As I said with the main challenge linky, feel free to tag us on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest . . . wherever you share your link ๐Ÿ™‚ BUT, in order to receive credit, you must link them up here. If you linked up a review in January for the mini challenges, it would be totally helpful if you could email Crystal or I the link ( Of course, if you can’t, I will be sifting through social media and the blog comments and will HOPEFULLY find all the links. SO, going forward, every link that you do for the AtoZ Reading Challenge will either go into the main monthly linkup or the mini challenge monthly linkup. Sound simple enough?

Now that we have that out of the way, it’s time for the exciting part of this month . . . the GIVEAWAY celebrating Lady Quinn’s second birthday and Mister Chu’s fourth!

  1. Your colour schemeโ€™s fantastic, itโ€™s what got me clicking your posts in the first place! If you want to mix it up, maybe recolour it according to event? E.g. on 14th Feb the colour splatters could be red, pink, white, and on independence day itโ€™s flag colours?
And I love the question section. I donโ€™t even second guess about commenting. It adds a welcoming feel to each and every one of your posts ๐Ÿ˜

  2. The challenge sounds amazing, thank you for putting it together. As far as the website goes I find all the different colour within the text hard on the eyes, but it fits your brand and personality, so you have to do what’s right for you ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. I like the color scheme! It is so eye-catching. I personally like the sidebar to be ordered in a specific way, but that’s my preference and how I set up my own sidebar. I like all of the follow/find us and Instagram to be the first things in the side bar so it is easy to find out how to follow a blog.

  4. I like the colours of the site. As the rest of the design is neutral, the colours work well to add interest and draw the eye to the various graphics. I personally prefer the old header with all the colours as opposed to the new orange one.

Hoping to find more time to take part in the challenges. Kids have been bringing home every virus doing the rounds in recent weeks which has meant less time for reading and having fun with the challenges.
