This book certainly was an adventure! What started out as two friends (who are also cleverly illustrated snack foods) going on a quick camping trip to break up their boredom, turned into quite an adventure! I will admit I thought this book was going to be for a younger audience. Then I opened it up and saw chapter breaks and many more words to pictures than I expected. It is what I would call a book for early readers. The story is simple but it is more than a picture book.
That doesn’t mean this story can’t be enjoyed by younger children. Mister Chu is almost 4 and he enjoyed the comical adventures Popcorn and Jellybean landed in. He asked more than once to go back and read more. And the illustrations were very well done, entertaining and easily summing up the story for him!
We would love to see more of Popcorn and Jellybean’s adventures, especially if they convince their friend Raisin to come along! This book just goes to show that anything can happen when you’re going on an adventure.
Don’t forget to enter the GIVEAWAY before you leave! You could win a paperback copy of The Adventures of Popcorn and Jellybean and a $20 Amazon gift card (1 winner, open to the US and Canada. Giveaway ends February 10, 2018).
