IWSG #4 | Writerly Life Update [Happy 4th of July!]

independence day

Happy 4th of July to all of our blogging friends in the US! Lady Quinn, Mister Chu, the Man and I are all soaking in the sun and enjoying some much-needed family time ❀ To those of you outside the US, Happy Wednesday!

It is the first Wednesday of the month so, before I head outdoors with the rest of my wild clan, I thought I’d do a little writerly life update.

Insecure Writers Support Group Badge

My hopes for July are high. Last month I told you a little bit about co-authoring a novel with a friend of mine. Unfortunately, due to my inability to say no to review requests, I have gotten NO writing done on our project. I briefly considered signing up for Camp NaNoWriMo. But, as you may or may not remember, that has worked so well in the past two attempts *sarcastic laugh*. In April, I created a novel, joined a cabin and everything. But, that does no good if you never log into the site.

In July, I’m relying purely on accountability provided by my writng partner (and the ability to preschedule posts LOL!) You will likely be seeing more from Crystal and less from me this month, but don’t worry, I promise this sassy ginger won’t be far πŸ™‚

And now, because the minions are calling, I leave you. Happy Independence Day if you’re in the US and if not, Happy Insecure Writer Day!

Are you an insecure writer like me? How do you stay accountable when it comes to writing? Have you joined Camp NaNoWriMo or NaNoWriMo? What works best for you? Let me know in the comments below and I’d love to chat about writing πŸ™‚ And, as always, thanks for reading ❀

  1. I have learned that f you approach a task as something you greatly look forward to, rather than something you need to do, it is much easier to get to πŸ˜‰

  2. I admire that you can co-write a novel. I think I’d be too into my own ideas for the story to do that. As far as what keeps me accountable: deadlines! ~Tui, dropping by from @TuiSnider on Twitter for IWSG.
