Hey booknerds! Can you believe it’s almost July!! I decided this year, I can’t pass up this tag 🙂 So let’s see how 2018 has been for me, so far . . .
Best Book You’ve Read So Far in 2018
Oh my gosh, yes! This book was fantastic. I loved everything about Pierce and Rian’s relationship. Helena Hunting is a new author to me but fast becoming one of my favorites! You can read my review of I Flipping Love You here 🙂
Best Sequel of 2018 So Far
So apparently I am lacking in the sequel department. I have read plenty of books that weren’t the first in a series (you know, those amazing romancey-contemporaries that you can read as standalones!) but I haven’t actually read a book 1 and then a book 2!
New Release You Haven’t Read Yet, But Want To
I don’t pre-order books. It’s just not my thing. My TBR is always so long that I don’t run the risk of running out of books to read. And Amazon is always so well-stocked that I don’t have to worry about getting a copy of a book when I want it. But this one, I pre-ordered. Yes, there is a signed first edition sitting on my bookshelf that I absolutely can’t wait to get to!
Most Anticipated Release of the Second Half of 2018
Ever since I heard about this book, it’s been at the very top of my TBR. It comes out August 7th so I don’t have long to wait but just look at that gorgeous cover! And Sarah J. Maas is one of my favorite authors ❤
I signed up for a blog tour for this one and tried so hard to get into it. It was impossible for me to relate to the main character, Sara, and while the blurb made this book sound fantastic, I never got into it. I ended up doing a spotlight post, instead. Oh well.
Middle grade, yes. But this book is great for adults, as well. Both Crystal and I flew through this one and bawled at the end of it. If you’re looking for an entertaining read that really has some substance to it, this is one we recommend wholeheartedly! Check out our review here!
Favorite New Author (Debut or New To You)
This one was a new narrator and new author to me. It was fantastic! I loved Briana and her growth through the book, and Daniela Acitelli’s narration was top notch! If you’re looking for some urban fantasy, check out my review here 🙂 Enjoy!
Newest Fictional Crush
I have to go with Prince Kai here. This one was a re-read so that I can continue the series and oh my gosh, I love him! I just can’t get enough of him. If you haven’t started the series, check out my review here (or if you have and want to fangirl over Kai for a bit!)
Newest Favorite Character
Oh my gosh, all of them! I have read so many books with amazing characters in them! I guess, if I had to pick, I’d say Iko, but not from Cinder. Her personality comes out so much more in Scarlet, when Cinder interfaces her with Thorne’s ship. It’s hilarious!
Book That Made You Cry
We are talking happy cry here. And I could easily pick any Melissa Foster book, but I loved Emery and Dean’s story. They started out as friends and their progression to lovers is so well-written. By the time I hit the end of the book, I was crying. So incredibly sweet! Check out my review here ❤
Book That Made You Happy
I am picking a KidLit book for this one because when Mister Chu and I read Neck & Neck, we laughed so. freaking. hard! This book is hilarious. I would even recommend this for an adult who’s had a bad day and just needs to laugh a little 🙂 Check out our review of this one here, but be prepared to laugh so hard you pee your pants!
Favorite Book to Movie Adaptation You’ve Seen This Year
Not a one. I have yet to see any new movies this year. What, have I been living under a rock?!
Favorite Review You’ve Written This Year
Not really a review, but this discussion post was the most fun for me. We are coming up on our One Year Blogiversary on July 1st and it was so much fun looking back on the year and what we’ve learned so far ❤
Most Beautiful Book You Bought or Received So Far This Year
This is one of the most gorgeous covers I have seen all year. I am sure there are others that I love, as well (I am a cover addict, after all), but this one stands out in my mind. Let’s just hope the book lives up to the cover!
Books You Need to Read By the End of the Year
Um . . . all of them! My TBR (review and non-review) is always growing. The end of the year is being extremely optimistic!
Anyone who wants to do this tag! I have passed it up a couple years but it’s so much fun to take a look at how your year has gone 🙂 So, if you’re interested, have a go!
