June is Audiobook Month

Hellooooo, booknerds! Guess what? June is Audiobook Month (here in the US? Worldwide? I’m not really sure). So we’re going to do something special. Each week (starting today because I was unaware it was Audiobook Month), we are going to feature one of our favorite audiobooks here on the Ginger Mom 🙂

Week 1 Pick

Why I love it so much?

This book became one of my all-time favorites because, not only is the story absolutely fantastic (a girl with blue hair who lives in the real world but also spends her time with magical creatures!) but the narration is top notch. Khristine Hvam has got to be one of my favorite narrators because she puts so much feeling into the book. The characters all have different accents or tones in their voices. And the way she narrates Brimstone! Oh! When you’re listening to this book, it is so easy to feel like you’ve been dropped right into the middle of Karou’s world, or even Brimstone’s magical world, for that matter. Instantly teleported.

This book is a time commitment. At 12 hours and 32 minutes, it’s no short read. But the narration is so skillfully done that I was able to speed it up without any issues. Not all narrators make that possible.

Are you currently listening to anything? Megan’s CR: Cinder by Marissa Meyer. It’s a re-read so I can continue the series 🙂 Let us know in the comments below if you are an audiboook-worm or not 🙂 And, as always, thanks for reading!

    1. It took me quite a while to try audiobooks but I am so glad that I did! And if you’re interested in trying, there are review sites that offer audiobooks (like The Audiobookworm) in exchange for a review 🙂
