Book Review

Sunday Post #4 | Challenges + Policies + A Winner + a #HalfwayGiveaway + My Comment Buddy + 5 Reviews, oh my!

These titles just get more and more insane as the weeks go by! But really, we had such a packed week that there wasn’t much else I could say 😉

Our biggest news this week is that we have a winner for the Unique Blogger AwardMegan @ The Hungry Bookworm! Congratulations, Megan 🙂 We enjoy her blog so much and have interviewed her on the Ginger Mom already. She is truly a unique blogger and it shows in her content. Who doesn’t love food AND books? If you haven’t checked out Megan’s blog yet, go do it now . . . really, we’ll wait 🙂

Are you back? Okay! This week brought the beginning of the month, which of course means it’s linky time again!

If you missed the link-up, follow the little blue frog and he’ll happily show you where to go! And there’s a little more at stake this month – as long as you have at least ONE review linked by the end of June, you will be entered in our #HalfwayGiveaway drawing!

In an effort to organize a bit more, we separated our challenges. There used to be one page for the AtoZ Challenge and one page for . . . well, everything else. Now, we have an entire drop-down menu!

So, while you’re here, don’t forget to stop by and check out our challenges for the year – AtoZ Challenge reviews, Beat the Backlist, Audiobook Challenge, Author Luv, Moody Reader, and our Commenting Challenges!

We also made a few updates to our policies this week. In order to let authors know exactly what we do and do not accept, we’ve made a couple updates to our Review Policy. In order to be compliant, we’ve also created an FTC and Privacy Policy page. This one is still in the developmental stages. Very basic. If you have any suggestions, feel free to comment and let us know! We want to make sure our policies are completely transparent 🙂

Reviews . . . we can’t forget about the books we reviewed this week!

week in review 4

Crystal reviewed The Sound of Running Horses by Donna Ball this week – this is the second in the Dogleg Island Mysteries and you can see what she thought of it 🙂 We also linked up for our second week of Marvelous Middle Grade Monday (#MMGM) with The Curse of the Cheese Pyramid – our introduction to the world of Geronimo Stilton. Two books were checked off the NetGalley list this week – I Flipping Love You by Helena Hunting (which we flipping loved!) and Today I’ll Be a Unicorn by Dana Simpson – an adorable children’s book about being content with yourself 🙂 Both received very high marks from us! Last, but certainly not least, we were excited to participate in the Sarah’s Shadow blog tour, reviewing this gorgeous kidlit book about a girl who wishes her shadow away . . . and it leaves!

Remember when I said this was a packed week? Well, it keeps going! We also received our Comment Challenge buddy this week – in the month of June, we’ll be buddying up with Barb @ Booker T’s Farm. We also signed up yesterday for July’s challenge so stay tuned for that!

Last, but certainly not least, we linked up with Dani for her I Heart Characters meme again this week! The prompt? The boy (or man) next door. Stop by to see who we chose 😉

We had a packed week here at the Ginger Mom! But what fun! And we have so much more coming next week 🙂 Let us know how your week went in the comments below! Leave us some links and we’ll stop by and visit. And as always, thanks for reading ❤ We’re so happy you stop by!

We’re linking up with Kimberly at the Caffeinated Reviewer
for her Sunday Post Meme 🙂

  1. I like that you guys review middle grade books, I’ve already seen a few here that look really good! I don’t seem to see as many MG reviews anymore, at least in the blogs I follow a lot, so it’s nice to see. 🙂

  2. I love the way your blog is, so colorful and attractive. That’s the first thing which caught my eye. And you guys seem to have a lot of fun writing posts. It is so evident from your post. Wow

  3. That is a heck of a week. I’m off to check out Megan’s blog and I want to read the review of The Sound of Running Horses because it sounds like something I’d like – and let’s be honest, there’s a dog on it. I’m glad you reminded me to sign up for July. Hope you have a wonderful week!
