Friday Face-Off #1 – Footsteps

Those of you who know me, know that I have a slight addiction with book covers. Book covers, chocolate, coffee, Henry VIII . . . but we’re only focusing on the covers today. I know, you’re not supposed to judge a book by its cover . . . but there are so many that are SO PRETTY. How can you not?!

Enter the Friday Face-Off, hosted by Books by Proxy. A meme created just for people like me 🙂 How does it work? If I understand the gist of it, you pick a book that follows the weekly theme (this week’s theme is FOOTSTEPS), choose two or more different covers for that book (at least ONE cover must have the theme represented on it). Then you compare and, ultimately, pick a winner!

Looking through my Kindle library, I picked Hotbloods by Bella Forrest.

According to Goodreads, the first two covers are the Kindle version, published November 26, 2017 by Nightlight. The third cover is the paperback copy, published November 18, 2017 by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. Amazon verifies this, with the small exception that it dates all three at November 26th.

Now, here comes the fun part! The winner . . .

This was a really hard choice because, unlike many covers, I actually love all three of these. I love the wings on the first photo, how unique the rose is on the middle one, and there’s something about the red that draws me in with the third cover. But, as there can only be one winner . . .

This is the cover that originally convinced me to buy the book. I love the dark clouds, the wings (as I said), and the entire color scheme fits together so well!

Which cover would you choose? And, this is our first time joining the Friday Face-Off . . . have you participated before? Leave us a link to your post in the comments and we’d be happy to check it out! Have you read Hotbloods or any other novels by Bella Forrest? Okay, booknerds, let’s chat! And, as always, thanks for reading – we appreciate you so much!
