We’ve had a pretty good week, here at the Ginger Mom. Working 50-60 hours a week, I was surprised anything got done, at all!
Monday marked the beginning of the first Bout of Books I have participated in since creating the Ginger Mom. I didn’t set my goals too high. I had a few review books that release in May and I planned to get through those and call it good. I was able to finish Manga Classics Romeo & Juliet (which released on May 15th – down to the wire, I know!), as well as I Flipping Love You by Helena Hunting, which I flipping loved!! My review will be going up closer to release day (May 29th) so stay tuned for that – just know, this is one 5 star package of steamy goodness!
The only one of my review choices that I didn’t get to was Ruthless Magic by Megan Crewe. This one releases on the 30th so, as the emotional hangover was passing, I picked up an easy graphic novel instead. I will be revisiting Ruthless Magic this week and will have that review up closer to release day, as well 🙂
We had two adult reviews up on the blog this week – an audio review of Tomorrow’s Lullaby by Lindzee Armstrong. This is the second book in an incredibly heart-wrenching series that I absolutely adore! The second review was a historical fiction novel about the third wife of King Henry VIII – Jane Seymour The Haunted Queen by Alison Weir. This one was an extremely intense read. I enjoyed it, but am glad to be reading something a little lighter now!
Our #ChildrensBookTuesday pick was one of the most adorable books, written and illustrated by India Sheana. I thought this book was going to be pictures of a little girl painting, like the cover shows. Instead, you get an actual step-by-step painting class! How much fun! Lady Quinn and Mister Chu probably aren’t old enough to do this yet but Crystal and I could certainly do an adult version of a Mommy and Me painting class! Such a fun book!
Last but not least, Saturday brought with it our Blogger Spotlight and this time, we decided to open up nominations for the Unique Blogger Award. All this week, stop by the Ginger Mom blog and vote for your favorite bloggers! At the end of the week, we will put together a list of all the nominees and you get to vote!
AAAANNNNDDD – because I was horrible at promoting this and no one really knew about it, our GIVEAWAY for 5 US Audible download codes for The Viking’s Chosen by Quinn Loftis is still going on! Stop by the review and let us know why you’d like to read this incredible historical fiction goody!
I’m linking up with Kimberly at the Caffeinated Reviewer
for her Sunday Post Meme 🙂
As always, thank you for reading, my lovely booknerds ❤
