Side Quest #8 [Book Blogger Hop]

book blogger hop

I have been so uber lazy with blog hops lately but here we are! It’s Friday and, even though we are in major birthday preparation mode, I didn’t want to miss another week. Have you joined us before? There’s a new question each week (and they are such fun to answer!). You answer the question, add your linky to the hop provided by our gracious host, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer, and go hopping! Easy peasy and so much fun πŸ™‚

Now that you know the deets of the hop, let’s see the question for this week πŸ™‚ This week’s question comes from Maria @ A Night’s Dream of Books . . .

Do you read hardcovers with the dust jacket on or off? Why or why not?

Um . . .

It’s possible I am been a teensy bit over-dramatic. Maybe. Just a bit. But really, while dust jackets are many times so freaking gorgeous, they are also a royal pain in the rear. So, to be very truthful, I am more of a paperback person, anyway. I get to keep the gorgeous covers and I don’t have to deal with the annoyance of the dust jacket. And Kindles. They are absolutely amazing, too!

I use dust jacket flaps as bookmarkers. Simple πŸ™‚

That’s all from us! Now off to go hopping πŸ™‚ Happy Friday, booknerds.

  1. I prefer to read on my Kindle as it saves my place, notes and highlights, and also translates and looks up unknown words for me – I have become so lazy that my hands actually got tired when I recently read a paperback, just from holding a book! Oh my, maybe I shouldn’t have admitted my sloth… πŸ˜‰

  2. 2018 feels like it’s flying by at least for me. I can’t believe it’s already the weekend again.
I didn’t even think about the beautiful cover without the hassle of a Dust jacket. I think you have the right idea. Plus kindles are amazing.
Have a great week! Happy reading.

  3. I’ve been reading ebooks so much lately, I don’t read many hardbacks. It kinda depends on what I’m doing while I read. If I’m going to read and just keep the book in the house, I will keep the cover on and do like you, use the flaps as book covers. If I’m going to be out someplace where the book may get damaged, I take the cover off.
