Mard is a polar bear, Max is a boy and their paths keep crossing. Max wants to have fun with his friends. All Mard wants is a cuddle. As he stumbles clumsily around the background of Max’s life events start to go in funny directions, and Mard goes unseen. Mard starts to feel sillier and sillier – will he ever get a cuddle?

Megan's review

This book was adorable, as was the story behind it (check out our interview with the brothers yesterday). The story was simple and sweet, easy for little ones to understand. I really enjoyed the uniqueness of the artwork. When so many books we have look almost digitally created, this was a refreshing change. I love that the illustrations were clearly hand-drawn.

Mard’s character was so sweet. I really felt for him – he just wants to help people . . . and get his cuddle. How could you resist that? It was so fun reading this to Lady Quinn & Mister Chu. One we will definitely keep on the shelves for when they are old enough to read it together.

The biggest issue we had while reading Mard was who got to hold the book. Mister Chu recognized the polar bear right away, though we haven’t talked about those types of animals much yet. Lady Quinn spent her time pointing out the colors. She is just learning to talk so the simple words were fun for her to repeat and the simple colors were ones she already knew.

This was a book that, despite it being over both of their ages, it was still something they could easily experience together.

Thank you for the complimentary copy of this book and for your trust in the Ginger Mom to do justice to your book!

That’s all we have for today!
